The Northeastern Woodworkers Association is a non-profit membership organization open without restriction to all who enjoy working wood... and want to get better at it. Formed in New York's cCapital District in 1991 for amateurs and professionals of all ages, NWA helps its more than 800 members learn from each other and from outside experts through a variety of ways. Bi-monthly meetings feature a talk or demonstration by a member or a guest speaker, a Show and Tell period and a coffee break to get acquainted. In addition , the Adirondack Woodturners Association, The Scrollers Guild and the Carvers Guild, special interest groups within NWA, offer additional regular meetings. NWA offers a lending library, a Tool Crib with loaner tools, a bi monthly newsletter, and it annually presents WOODWORKERS SHOWCASE, a fine woodworking show.
